What is Sports Massage?

Sports massage involves manipulating soft tissue to improve strength and flexibility, speed up recovery, relieve joint swelling and aid relaxation. Individually tailored treatments help correct imbalances in the musculoskeletal system (muscles, tendons, ligaments etc) often caused by repetitive actions, strenuous physical activity and, in some instances, trauma. Deep tissue massage involves more concentrated pressure on the affected area, to increase blood flow to the tissues, break down scar tissue and encourage lymphatic drainage. The target is to enhance performance, boost recovery and improve flexibility and joint mobility. You don’t have to be an athlete to book a sports massage. They really are for everyone.
